 	** WASTE PREVENTION FORUM **
-- A project of the National Waste Prevention Coalition
---------------------
>From an interview with Ralph Nader, legendary consumer activist, in the May
3, 1999, Waste News (interview written by Walt Wiley):

"I used to have my umbrella repaired. There were people who repaired
umbrellas, but no more. Now, when your umbrella gets blown inside out,
you're supposed to just throw it away and buy a new one. I think we can all
demand more than that." -- Ralph Nader

>From Tom Watson, Waste Prevention Forum moderator:

Below is the address for one of the best websites I've seen with ideas for
crafts made of reused materials. It is part of the site for TVI, a company
based in the Seattle area that operates the Value Village chain of thrift
stores. The crafts and instructions on how to make them are by Kim Bailey
of Seattle, an artist and TVI employee. Some of the projects are elaborate,
but there are also some reuse ideas that require little or no work (such as
the "Shoehouse", my personal favorite). The site address is:
http://www.tviinc.com/new/craft/march99/main.html To see all the crafts,
click on "Frames" and then check out the other links, especially "Recent
Projects."
