** WASTE PREVENTION FORUM ** -- A project of the National Waste Prevention Coalition -------- Forum archive: http://www.reuses.com/nwpcarchive -------------------- >From Jan Nicholls Lucke, Richardson, Richter and Associates, St Paul, MN: The Solid Waste Management Coordinating Board (SWMCB) formed in 1990 as a joint powers board comprised of two county commissioners from each of the Minnesota counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey and Washington. SWMCB implements waste reduction, reuse, recycling and management programs in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area. The Regional Solid Waste Master Plan, adopted by SWMCB in 1998, outlines aggressive outcomes for the reduction and recycling of office paper waste. In working towards these outcomes, SWMCB has released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to work with two generators of office paper waste to implement office paper reduction strategies. These businesses will serve as "demonstration projects." Please visit http://www.swmcb.org/publications/index.html for the full RFQ (it's in "PDF" format). You can also call me at 651-222-7227 or e-mail me at jlucke (AT) richardsonrichter (DOT) com to get a copy of the RFQ, or for more information. Proposals are due on May 16, 2000. The total project budget is $20,000. The SWMCB will negotiate the final budget and work plan with the selected contractor. The project is scheduled to begin in June and end in December 2000. -------------------- Excerpted from job announcement sent by Christopher Taylor, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, Portland, OR: A position as Waste Reduction Outreach and Promotion Specialist is available with the Waste Prevention and Management Division of the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, Portland, OR.
