These are a few of the major database provider companies in the U.S., with
examples of their database products (these products are sold to many types
of companies, for direct-mail marketing, telemarketing and other purposes):

KnowledgeBase Marketing.  Chapel Hill, NC.  Products include:  "AmeriLINK" -
Data on 200 million individuals, including income, phone numbers, number and
ages of children, occupation, and whether the family has a credit card.

Equifax.  Atlanta, GA.  Products include:  "Lifestyle Selector" - Data
compiled from product-registration cards on household characteristics and
leisure activities of 38 million consumers.  "Outdoor Database" -
Information derived from boat, vehicle, and aircraft registrations and state
hunting and fishing licenses on demographic, recreational and lifestyle
activities for over 26 million consumers.  

Experian.  Orange, CA and Nottingham, England.  Products include:
"Insource" - Demographic, psychographic, and behavioral data from public and
self-reported sources representing 95 percent of U.S. households.

PerformanceData/Trans Union.  Chicago, IL.  Products include:  "Home Owner
Data" - Lists of homeowners, with individual-level information on mortgages
and home-equity amounts.
		
Acxiom.  Conway, AR.  Products include:  "InfoBase" - According to the
company, the "largest collection of U.S. consumer, business, and telephone
data available in one source" for database or file enhancement, analytical
services, or list rental.  Consumer data include demographic and lifestyle
profiles.

Job title:  Resource-Efficient Building Coordinator
Salary range:  $57,044 - 69,316

On July 3, 1999, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed legislation
designed to reduce the use of natural resources, including energy and
material use, in City owned and leased buildings. The Resource-Efficient
Building (REB) Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the program
established by this legislation - the San Francisco Resource-Efficient
Building program - which includes an extensive pilot project program. The
REB Coordinator is responsible for coordinating resource-efficient building
efforts with City departments, including conducting outreach and working
with both the public and private sectors to promote resource-efficient
building practices. The REB Coordinator is part of the Resource and Energy
Efficiency Division of the Department of the Environment and reports to the
Resource Efficiency Manager.

Examples of duties:  Coordinate City department activities and meetings to
promote resource efficiency and green buildings.  Implement and enforce the
Resource-Efficient Building Ordinances for all City departments.  Review and
recommend exemptions when appropriate.  Draft and coordinate
resource-efficient building guidelines.  Develop and implement a
program-related incentive and rating system.  Establish baseline budget and
track costs, savings and benefits.  Establish evaluation mechanisms to
determine the effect of the ordinances.  Coordinate and develop plans and
materials for marketing pilot projects.  Develop and present guidelines,
technical measures and criteria for pilot projects.  Identify and secure
outside funding for
pilot projects.

Job requirements include:
- Ability to express technical and complex information in layperson's terms.
- B.S. in environmental science, architecture, engineering or related field.
- 5 years verifiable experience in areas related to resource-efficient
building.
- 2 years experience in data analysis, evaluation and presentation.
- 2 years experience in project and budget management.
