From Nancy Helm, City of Seattle, Office of Sustainability & Environment,
Seattle, WA, following up on the 10/17/01 posting asking about less-toxic
ways to remove graffiti:

Does anyone know of a P2 (pollution prevention) best-practices manual for
graffiti removal? If not, does anyone think that such a thing would be
useful? Thanks.

From Tony Kingsbury, Dow Plastics, Midland, MI, responding to the 10/17/01
posting that the ULS (Use Less Stuff) Report website is back online:

I was sure glad to see the ULS website up and running from Bob Lilienfeld.
I miss the ULS Report. I did take the opportunity to go look through some
of the old issues. My favorite was the Jan/Feb 1995 issue with the headline
"Lose 60 Pounds and Eat All You Want." What a great headline, and
corresponding source reduction information. I'd be curious what other
people's favorites were.

From Tom Watson, King County Solid Waste Division, Seattle, WA, and the
National Waste Prevention Coalition:

Many companies now offer online billing (also known as electronic billing,
or e-billing), which reduces paper waste. Below is a link to a partial list
of financial services companies, insurance companies, telecommunications
companies and utility companies that offer this service. This list is on
the website of CheckFree, which is one of the main providers of online
billing services for companies.

Note: I first saw this website mentioned in the "Chinook Book," an
environmental resource guide and coupon book sold in the Seattle, Portland
and Minneapolis-St. Paul areas (in the Twin Cities it's called the "Blue Sky
Guide"). For information on these guides, see their website at:
http://www.chinookbook.net (Chinook is a Native American word (from the
Pacific Northwest), and Chinook salmon is another name for king salmon.)

Reduction and Energy Efficiency Workshop, to be held Oct. 30 in Livonia, MI
(first seen in the Waste Reduction Tips newsletter):

http://www.deq.state.mi.us/ead/eosect/brochure/WREE2001Brochure.pdf (This
brochure is in Adobe Acrobat personal document format.) The conference is
sponsored by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. It includes
tracks on reuse/recycling, design for the environment and pollution
prevention. Many of the sessions are aimed primarily at manufacturing
companies.
