MORE ON REFILLING STATIONS FOR REUSABLE WATER BOTTLES
(Also mentioned in the last edition of the Forum, these are a modern version of drinking fountains, or a retrofit or add-on for existing drinking fountains, for buildings, public places or events. They encourage waste prevention because they make it easier to fill and use reusable bottles.)

Sept. 12, 2011 - From Kim Dinan, Sustainability Coordinator, Portland Water Bureau:
I thought you'd be interested in learning about a concept that one of the Portland Water Bureau engineers thought up.  It's called Water Event Station (WES) and can be hooked into water mains and fire hydrants to provide free tap water at community events.  Here's a link with more information.
